MARIANNA PHUNG is a creator, writer, director, and actor. She recently wrapped Netflix’s The Altruists as a main cast member, directed and written by Academy Award winner Graham Moore.
As an actor, Marianna has appeared opposite Diane Lane, Domhnall Gleeson, Merritt Wever, and Julia Garner. She is known for grounded, instinctive performances that balance emotional depth with sharp comedic timing.
As a director, Marianna has helmed episodes of Pillow Talk (Season 2) on Crave and the OUTtv series Ezra. She has also directed national commercial campaigns for brands including Gillette, Bud Light, RBC, and WestJet.
Marianna is a proud voice in the Vietnamese Canadian and queer creative communities, telling stories rooted in humor, heart, and lived experience.
